Nkechi Blessing’s production manager Akinyemi Olufemi has revealed why they were attacked by thugs at a filming location in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Naija News reports that a video had gone viral showing thugs attacking the popular actress and her team.
Reports have also emerged claiming that Olufemi, who is also an actor, was hit with a stone in the face by one of the thugs.
Speaking to Saturday Tribune, Femi said the thugs who attacked them damaged the windshield of their bus and the side mirror of the manager’s car.
He said: “There were three of them coming and they started fuming that they had to be paid before they could continue filming. During this time, it was also my domain o. This act was expected and we have already prepared for them, but their approach will now also influence our response. Sometimes some of them ask for a ridiculous amount of around N700,000.
“Before we knew what was going on they already removed the cable from our power station, this made the problem worse as everyone had to come out to check what had happened. We tried to manage the situation and we were able to continue our shooting and the guys were waiting for us to finish shooting. But there was this particular guy among them who was more stubborn.
“I don’t know if the guy had an ulterior motive that day other than to come and ask for money before we could continue our shoot, because when he started fuming outside, Nkechi already gave me money. money to give him but the guy wasn’t even ready to cash the money. He just started fuming saying all sorts of things like, Nkechi is a ritualist and started destroying car side mirrors and stuff.
“When I also came out to address the issue as production manager on this set, the guy just picked up a rock, threw it at me and it hit me in the face, that I even got hospitalized . But thank God I was taken care of by the producer – Nkechi Blessing and I didn’t have to spend the night in the hospital.
