The film’s production team will organize a meeting | New

Over the past few months, writer/director, MYC Agnew, has announced plans to shoot his final potential movie, “The Karate Nerd,” in Gatesville.

Agnew and the film’s star, Cris Cole of Gatesville, will be hosting a meet and greet event at The Junction on Saturday, April 23 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The production team continues to search for locals to cast as extras in the film. Some of the featured extras will have lines in the film.

Agnew has traveled to Gatesville in recent months to scout and work on story structure while employing the help of local community leaders.

Without giving too much away, Agnew said, “Gatesville’s beautiful and historic downtown plaza will be used for the film’s grand finale, where the little comedy movie will have its big dramatic ending.”

Those interested in being part of the production of the film, including featured extras, are invited to attend the Meet and Greet on April 23 at The Junction. Interested parties may also contact the director, MYC Agnew, at

The junction is located at 1216 N. Highway 36 Bypass.
