Hollywood turns the “Field of Dreams” into a TV show.
NBC Universal is creating a prequel series to the ‘Field of Dreams’ movie to air on the Peacock Network – and they’re looking for production people in Iowa to help out. But Iowa Office of Media Production chief Liz Gilman says they won’t shoot at the film’s original Dyersville site.
The film’s site also hosts major and minor league games at the same time as filming for the streaming series will continue – so producers will be building a set for the series in central Iowa.
Gilman says all types of people are needed here in Iowa to start production.
She encourages anyone interested in working on the project to visit productiowa.com and register with their free media production directory.
Gilman says producing and building the site is the first step in the process. They will also be looking for people to appear on the show.
Gilman says the producers need dry weather for another key part of the show’s site.
Gilman says the site is in Polk County, but they don’t give the exact location yet. Additional filming will take place in Mahaska, Clinton and Boone counties.
